Alhaj Alkhatem
Hi, I am Alkhatem Alhaj from Wad Medani, Sudan. I have a Bachelor of Science in Economics and Rural Development from University of Gezira and possess over eight years of experience leading and managing complex development and stabilization programs in conflict-affected contexts. My work has focused mainly on East Africa and Sudan, currently suffering one of the world’s most severe humanitarian crises.
My professional expertise spans research and technical analysis, program design and management, partnerships, and monitoring and evaluation. I have worked with development firms, UN Agencies, and local and international NGOs on economic development, peacebuilding, and institutional strengthening. Beyond measurable outputs and project milestones, what I value most are the relationships and networks that I built through collaboration in these challenging environments.
I joined MESCI program to deepen my analytical foundation in development economics and strengthen my ability to translate economic theory into practical solutions. The program offers a good integration of economic analysis and international cooperation that matches my goals of contributing to evidenced development program policy in conflict-affected settings.
