Bridging Skills for Sustainable, Ecological and Digital Transformation

Alumni 2014/2015

DI DOMENICO Lorenzo

My name is Lorenzo, 26 years old and I come from Teramo. I have an MSc degree in Energy and Environmental Sustainability Management - Engineering at Politecnico of Milan. During last years I have been developing a strong interest in the International policy cooperation sector. In particular, I have been focusing on economy politics for global development, on institutional global relations in market jurisdiction and on the interactions between the State, the market and third sector organizations. In this context, my dissertation has been focused on Social Enterprises, and their role inside the dichotomy between the State and the market. On the empirical side of this work, I studied the designing of a Social Enterprise for the production and distribution of biomethane, obtained from the waste valorization. The project has been developed during an Exchange Program in Colombia, in collaboration with Eafit University. During this period I also had the opportunity to take part in the project “Inclusive trade”, related to the organization of a farmer cooperative for roasting and selling coffee. Beforehand, I collaborated in a project with 2AdibBali Ong, regarding the construction of water well in the community of Fenkolò (Bamako, Mali). I decided to undertake the Master in Development Economics and International Cooperation in order to gain a deep preparation about quantitative and economic analysis and related public policies. Through my studies I hope to be able, in the future, to give my contribution to the creation of a more equal and sustainable model of global development.
