CONTEH Saidu

My name is Saidu Conteh and I am a Sierra Leonean. I graduated from Fourah bay College, University of Sierra Leone with a degree in Civil Engineering with Honours (B. Eng (Hons)). I have wealth of Experiences in the field of Civil Engineering and I have implemented infrastructural Programmes/projects from the conception stage to completion, working for the consultant, contractors and project management coordination agencies. In a nutshell I have practically implemented every stage of the Project/Programme Cycle. My professional aspiration to bridge the gap between structural and non-structural solutions in the field of Engineering inspired me to pursue a post graduate diploma in Land Management and Informal Settlement Regularisation at the Institute of Housing and Urban Development Studies (IHS) in the Erasmus University, Netherlands and alsoobtained a Certificate Flood Risk Management at the UNESCO IHE, Delft, Netherlands. In order to further reinforce my knowledge in Urban Development issues, I enrolled in the MUNDUS URBANO PROGRAMME which is an advance master in International Cooperation and Urban Development jointly coordinated by the Technical University of Darmstadt, Germany and one of its partner universities in France, Italy or Spain. Currently, Iam undertaking my Second year of the Programme in Development Economics and International Cooperation (MESCI) at the University of Rome “Tor Vergata” and I believe that this programme will enhance my capacity to understand the role of economics in the complex hybrid of Social, Environmental, Political and cultural issues in the Development Nexus. My ultimate purpose in life is to contribute to nation building by engaging in projects and programmes geared toward poverty reduction in the short-run and in the long-run to change the political landscape in my country in a more profound way that will usher in hope, prosperity and opportunity for all by unleashing anti-corruption revolution and be a role modelfor Africans in particular and the humanity in general.
