My name is Has van Vlokhoven, I'm 22 years old and I'm from the Netherlands. In the Netherlands I studied econometrics at Tilburg university, from which I obtained my master's degree last summer. During my studies econometrics the focus was especially on mathematics and not so much on the (macro)economic application. However, I would like to go deeper into this application on economics. And since I could not withstand the temptation of living a year in Rome I decided to continue straight into the MESCI program. My interests in development economics started during a holiday in Indonesia, where I saw a not so rich country with a huge growth potential. It would be great if I, in the future, could help people to become wealthier. I'm sure that the MESCI program will provide me the necessary tools for doing so.
