I come from a small city called Jaffna in Northern Sri Lanka. I did my Bachelors in Business Administration and there after continued to work for nearly seven years, initially with a national NGO and later With UNDP Sri Lanka. I was always interested in issue related with economic development and recently the rapid urbanization taking place in developing countries had caught my attention.I have special interest in small and medium enterprise development, climate change, incremental housing and micro finance. I found the double degree Master’s programme “Mundus Urbano” fulfilling my dual needs in urban development and development economics and prompted me to make an application. I already had a very fruitful year in Darmstadt, Germany where I completed the urban development component of the programme and expecting to have a great year ahead in Rome.
