Bridging Skills for Sustainable, Ecological and Digital Transformation

Alumni 2012/2013

SHINOHARA Moeko

I am Moeko Shinohara from Japan, and currently a graduate student of the International Peace and Conflict Resolution program at Arcadia University in the USA. The MESCI program is my study abroad option, but is very different field from what I study at Arcadia. In Germany, I have done another study abroad focusing "Renewable Energy, Policy and Development", discussing opportunities and constraints for world's environmental issues. I have worked at an IT consulting firm for three years and gained some knowledge about business and computer technology. While working, I had been a volunteer for a non-profit organization in Japan, creating musical events for educational purposes. My curiosity has led me to see new views of the society, and the multiple perspectives about problems and concerns we have in the world always interest me. MESCI provides a very important view to me that many problems in the world do not stand alone disconnecting themselves from other issues. I hope to gain knowledge of development economics and practical skills in order to analyze and transform the relationships of seemingly "conflicting issues."
