LIU Ming Wei
I have been an urban researcher - working on the ancient city studies, of the development morphologically and chronologically. If more specifically, my dissertation which so far has been almost worked through except the verification for my hypotheses in the conclusion which is about the transition of the linkage of form and function for the pre-modern cities – my ideal example is the centers of the ancient east and the western one, therefore I come here in Rome, from Chang’an of its 7th century. As long as in the further months, I may be approved enough time - by my being back in Taiwan - to be entitled PhD in architecture - I hope to be granted with energy and mathematic insights as well to work through this program and perhaps to understand in the view of an economist on “city development.” After all this should still my blessing to be here in Mesci. Whatsoever, it is fun for me today when I am during Mesci class to recall long time ago, I was juvenile in high school struggling with the lacking intelligence in mathematics, till now, that this does not change for a little bit.
