KALIA Suela

I am Suela and I come from Albania. I studied "Cooperation and International and Local Development" at the faculty of Political Science, University of Bologna. The objectives of these studies were to give a basis of understanding of problems and priorities that Developing Countries meet in their way to development. My final thesis was regarding Remittances Management and Best Practices for the Italy-Albania Corridor which aimed to describe the decisive role assumed by immigrants and their remittances in the original and adopted countries. Migrant banking and the challenge of remittance banking were the core of the field research I did in Albania, with the support of the International Organisation on Migration and the Italian Cooperation Office in Tirana city. I choose the MESCI Master to enhance my economic and statistics background in order to have the right instruments to operate in a developing country (especially my native country Albania). I think it will be a meaningful experience also for the fact that MESCI students come from different realities, countries and this will surely enrich us all.
