Bridging Skills for Sustainable, Ecological and Digital Transformation

MESCI Students

Ndongo Fuankenganyi Marienette

My name is Ndongo Marienette Fuankenganyi, and I am from Cameroon. I hold a BSc in agricultural economics from the University of Buea, Cameroon and recently completed an MSc in agricultural economics at the same institution.

My professional interest is in the economics of agricultural and rural development, with keen interest in vulnerable groups of smallholders, youth, and poor rural women. My previous MSc research analysed agricultural price transmission and market integration. This work contributed to a deeper understanding of how agricultural commodity prices adjust and respond across different markets. Through this work, I have developed strong analytical, quantitative, and research skills, particularly in econometric analyses.

In addition to my academic training, I have gained practical experience through internships in humanitarian and developmental non-governmental organizations (NGOs) in conflict-affected communities in Southwestern Cameroon. I supported operations in WASH (Water, Sanitation and Hygiene), Gender-Based Violence (GBV), and livelihood support. These experiences have also been crucial for developing my teamwork, communication, and organizational skills, and given me an opportunity to apply knowledge to real-world development challenges.

I am very keen about MESCI as I look forward to deepening my theoretical knowledge while gaining practical exposure that will prepare me for a career in international development and cooperation. My goal is to make meaningful technical contribution to sustainable agricultural systems and inclusive.
