MESCI Students
Galantuomo Carmen
Hi there! I’m Carmen, a 27-year-old Italian PhD student in Economics. I hold a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and International Relations and a master’s degree in Economics, Government and Administration, with a special focus on Environmental Economics and Policy. During my studies, I had the great opportunity to spend two years abroad in Poznań (Poland) and Lille (France) as part of the Erasmus programme, experiences that further confirmed my inclination toward multicultural environments.
I decided to pursue the MESCI Master as it provided a unique opportunity to deepen my knowledge of topics I am particularly passionate about, such as international economics and trade, environmental sustainability, inclusive growth, poverty, and inequality. These themes have always guided my academic choices and continue to do so, as I have consistently strived to play an active role in shaping a more equitable and sustainable future, even through evidence-based research.
What's more, MESCI allowed me to develop a stronger understanding of economic and social development dynamics and to acquire the analytical tools necessary to advance my doctoral research.
Last but not least, during the MESCI programme I met colleagues who have become wonderful companions on this journey!
