Bridging Skills for Sustainable, Ecological and Digital Transformation

MESCI Students

Tarantino Simone

I am Simone Tarantino and I come from Napoli, Italy. After finishing scientific high school, I started my Bachelor's degree in Economics at Università degli studi di Napoli Federico II. The reason of this choice relies in the passion for mathematics combined with a strong willing to make an impact for improving people lives. During my Bachelor I went in Lisbon for Erasmus at Nova IMS, an enriching and inestimable experience, which let me build new friendships with people from all over the world and learn new culture, values and lifestyle. Afterwards I chose to specialize through my Master's degree in Economics and Finance, which strong relied on quantitative models to analyze real world problems and how agents make their decisions. I did the final dissertation on asset management, using a multi-factor model, trying to smooth-out variability of portfolio investments. Furthermore, I found and internship at BNL (BNP Paribas) in the Investment management, studying market dynamics and risk-related choices. However I did not find this path perfectly aligned with who I am, I chose MESCI to strengthen my knowledge on economic subjects and in particular to combine it with my priority to improve people lives' conditions. Nonetheless, to make new friends and colleagues and open my mind to solutions where agents aspire to reduce inequalities.
