LAURIE Susan

Susan graduated from the MESCI program at the University of Rome Tor Vergata in 2017. She is currently interning with international organization, GIZ (Gesellschaft für International Zussamenarbeit), in Eschborn, Germany within the TRANSfer Project which seeks to support developing countries in the development and implementation of climate change mitigation strategies in the transport sector. She just completed her thesis analyzing communication tools for international exchange. Her final project proposes a 6-month educational program within the ciriculum of eight schools in eight different countries to combat harmful consequences of unchallenged stereotypes and promote understanding of different perspectives.

She holds a bachelor degree in communication & culture, as well as minors in anthropology, media studies, and public & environmental affairs. She is a recent graduate of the Mundus Urbano Programme where she will be awarded a MSc in International Cooperation in Urban Development from Technische Universität Darmstadt. She looks forward to utilizing the economic development perspecives the MESCI program provides to further promote humanitarian assistance efforts on the internaional scale.
