David Suttie is a graduate from MESCI 2008/2009 and subsequently participated in a distance learning MSc in Sustainable Development with the School of Oriental and African Studies. In December 2009 he joined the Food and Agricultural Organization of the United Nations (FAO), where he co-authored a chapter for the inter-agency publication "Gender dimensions of agricultural and rural employment." He has been working at the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) since August 2010, where he has authored several publications on youth employment, migration and family farming.
