VICINANZA Riccardo
Hi, I am Riccardo from Napoli, southern Italy. I have a bachelor in Languages (Arabic and French) and a master in Cooperation and Development in the Mediterranean Area (Master “MIM”). In my academic experience I mainly focused on MENA (Middle East and North Africa) studies, migrations, and political sociology. I carried out several fieldworks in these areas, among which a thesis on sub-Saharan migrants’ underground economy in Casablanca, Morocco. I am convinced of the effectiveness of the qualitative research approach, but I would like to integrate some quantitative analysis tools in order to deepen my understanding and generalize assumptions to mass scale. I’ve been working as a research assistant at the Université Internationale de Rabat, Morocco, and successively as a Policy and Project Officer for the Conference of Peripheral Maritime Regions, namely on European Cohesion and Neighborhood Policies, and decentralized cooperation. I’m particularly interested in territorial inequalities, mobility, urban and infrastructure development, and I hope Master MESCI will provide me with concrete action tools to address these issues operationally.
