PEREZ FRANCIS Laura Patricia
My name is Laura Patricia Pérez Francis. I am a Mexican architect from the Universidad Iberoamericana Campus Puebla. As a university student, in 2011, I opened a business and started my Architecture firm. Through my business, I have been able to work with different organisations such as the Mexican Secretary of National Defense in projects related to the new development of military bases, ECOPRO a company dedicated to the design and production of urban furniture out of recycled plastic, and with different Architecture firms. During this time, my work has been focused on the areas of design, administration and project management.
Working with the military and volunteering helping people after recent natural disasters, helped me
realised the lack of good urban planning that would help my city. As a result, this has motivated
me again to develop myself further as an entrepreneur and maintain the belief that by improving
myself, I can help growing communities.
In 2019 I joined the dual-degree program MUNDUS URBANO “International Cooperation and Urban Development”. After spending the 1st year at the Technical University of Darmstadt in Germany, I decided to focus my studies on Development Economics and International Cooperation and continue the second year at the University of Tor Vergata.
I am interested in urban mobility, sustainable development, resilient communities, globalisation and international cooperation, and I hope that MESCI helps me reach my goal of working in these fields with the added knowledge of economics.
