Susan is trained as an urban planner (B.Sc., Ferdowsi University of Mashhad, 2013) and designer (M.Sc. University of Tehran, 2016). She began her career as an urban researcher in 2012, focused on evidence-based evaluation, urban analysis, and research-based policy making. Awarded an Erasmus Mundus Scholarship in 2017, she completed her second master in “Urban Development and International Cooperation” at the Technical University of Darmstadt, Germany. Furthering her career path towards international development, Susan joined the Master in Development Economics (MESCI), based in Rome--a creative platform for actors in international development, ranging from academic institutions to international agencies. This environment has enabled and inspired the rediscovery of her knowledge of development, through an economic articulation of the phenomenon.
