I am Chuma Sineke, from Mthatha, South Africa. I am Construction Manager by training with experience in retail development projects. Passionate about my country and continent, I made the decision to further my studies due to the numerous social, political and economic challenges facing my country and continent. I wanted to understand, learn, meet and work with people from all over the world who could bring fresh perspectives and help evolve ideas regarding how to deal with some of the challenges.
My initial interests were solely in infrastructure development and the provision of access to basic services for all, particularly the urban poor. Over the years, my interests have evolved and now include the politics and economic development of African countries; hence, I chose to enroll to the MESCI programme. I look forward to a challenging but fun year in the programme.
