PATERKOVA Desislava Ivanova
Hello! My name is Desislava Paterkova. I’m originally from Bulgaria, although I completed
my Bachelor's in Sociology from University of Bordeaux (France). During the last year of my bachelor's degree, I had the chance to do an exchange program at Venice International University.
No matter where I am, volunteering plays a very important role in my life. As an active
citizen, I have worked for over eight years for NGOs and youth projects on regional, national and international level. To be a volunteer is a great way not only to help those in need but also to get involved in a country’s social life and contribute to the society’s public spirit.
I chose this master's programme because my enjoyment and critical interest in the
international arena and economics increased markedly duringthe past few years and I want to continue enriching my knowledge and learning about efficient methodsand approaches to tackle the recent stringent economic and public issues. I am convinced that a more complete understanding of development economics and project management will make me even more motivated and able to create newer and better ways for people from different countries to cooperate for the best benefit of our societies. After completing my studies, I am planning on beginning a career in a private, nonprofit, professional organization, concerned withpublic welfare goals and political life.
