ALFIERI Alessandro
My interest for Development Economics and International Cooperation arose mainly from the thirst for knowledge about multifaceted relations among States, inter-governmental and non-governmental organizations, regarding problems that affect world’s stability like inequality, climate change, internal and inter-State conflicts. Constantly inspired by lectures and discussions including economic and politic critiques, I have always looked at them with empirical methods and into the historical evidence. This approach alongside a growing interest in sustainable development led to my last dissertation: a study on food security in Middle East and North African region during the events occurred in the so called “Arab Spring”. Within this subject, during the past few years I have developed a keen interest in political ecology, especially focused in rural transformation, agflation, energy security, and transnational accumulation. I intend to be occupied in this field of work to take part in strengthening the cooperation activities that are bred globally and fuelled by cross-cultural professions. I believe this master’s program would be very relevant to this objective exposing me to ways of thought that are currently unknown.
