KATEULE MAMBWE Sylvia
I am a Zambian, I was born in Mufulira, Zambia. I currently live in Johannesburg, with my husband and daughter. I have four (4) years working experience in development and town planning. Subsequent to completion of my bachelors’ degree in Urban and Regional Planning I worked for Chingola Municipal Council and Kalulushi Municipal Council as an Assistant Planner and Deputy Director of Development Planning respectively between 2005 and 2009. In late 2009 I went to the United Kingdom to pursue a masters in Development Finance but I felt the programme left me burning with more questions about economic development. Hence, my motivation to join the MESCI programme was first of all due to expand my knowledge on issues concerning development. And secondly, I find its curriculum to be appealing and well-structured in preparing someone for a career in development economics. Given the many challenges facing African countries, I hope to return to Zambia and in a small way contribute positively to its development.
