Alumni 2012/2013
PINILLA RODRIGUEZ Manuela
I was born in Bucaramanga, a small city in Colombia, and got my bachelor and masters degree in Anthropology from the Universidad de los Andes in Bogota. Throughout this time I did research on the urban resettlement’s program that has been carried on by the city government of Bogota and worked for this project that aims to protect the lives of thousands of citizens that inhabit the marginalized and impoverished hills of the city and live in constant threat of land sliding. I joined the Mundus Urbano program in 2011 and chose MESCI as my second year option, looking for a more interdisciplinary approach to the contemporary urban challenges, stressing the focus on economic development in the global south. In the future I would like to work on programs for land and housing rights with a gender perspective.
