Bridging Skills for Sustainable, Ecological and Digital Transformation

MITIC Ana

I am an architect and urban planner from Belgrade, Serbia, with working experience in Spain (Urban Plans of Special Heritage Protection), Serbia (Housing projects with project coordination and management) and Cyprus (Project of the New Nicosia Town Hall complex). I am eager to work in challenging environments and to constantly extend my field of competences. This course in Development Economics is the final stage of my double degree postgraduate studies in Urban Development and International Cooperation, started at Technische Universität Darmstadt in Germany. I expect it will provide me with a more profound understanding of the global dynamics, especially relevant in the current situation of crisis, and valuable economic knowledge, substantial for responsible decision making in urban practice and complementary to my professional background in physical planning and social development aspects. In my future career I want to work on addressing some of the urban challenges in transition economies: from appropriate policymaking and legislation, like current Serbian regulation of public-private partnerships and concessions, through issues of public property, restitution and privatization, until practical problems of legalization and planning adjustments. I want to work on initiating and implementing action. Along with advocacy and action generation, I plan to undertake research, as an integrative part of my professional engagement. I am interested in theories of strategic urban planning, urban management and good participatory governance. I am experienced in and inspired by working in international teams.
